The Farm is a small organization based on the Gold Coast, away from the traditional strongholds of contemporary dance and performance. We operate as a collective, with collaborative processes that have been running for 20+ years, based upon intergenerational respect and reciprocity. We are from different backgrounds, ages, genders, sexualities and lived experiences. We work together because we believe that shared knowledge is a powerful tool in creating art that matters, that shakes up our existing systems.
With satellite locations in Perth and Berlin, and a Queensland base that includes a youth ensemble, residency programs and an annual workshop festival, our small org creates a big impact, producing multi-faceted work with a sense of humour that connects to anyone from dance afficionados to theatre virgins.
