IllUMEnate WA is a collective of artists from diverse backgrounds based in Perth. Having found a dearth of professional opportunities and spaces accessible for us to share work outside of our local communities, we founded illUMEnate in 2016 to address this problem. Through a range of public events and creative projects, we share our stories with the wider Australian society through contemporary arts practice; including performance poetry, theatre, music, photography & visual art.
Since its inception, illUMEnate WA has partnered with Perth City Farm, Paper Mountain and Perth Institute of Contemporary Art to showcase talent from across our community and introduce diverse audience members to these venues.
