Adam Kelly is an emerging theatre-maker and a self-described autistic gentleman. Adam started his career as an actor with WA Youth Theatre Company in 2017 and has performed in many of WAYTCo’s productions, including Away (2017), directed by Stuart Haluz, and yourseven (2018), created by James Berlyn. Adam also wrote a monologue for, and performed in, WAYTCo’s REST at East Perth Cemeteries (Fringe World, 2019). The show sold out, won five Fringe Awards and was highly praised by the critics. In 2020, Adam presented the first iteration of ARCO, a 20-minute solo show which he co-wrote with WAYTCo Artistic Director, James Berlyn, and performed at Fringe World as part of ‘Body Rights’. Adam won the ECU Performing Arts Award for this original version of the show.
ARCO then toured successfully, delighting audiences in Western Australia (2022), Arts Centre Melbourne (2023), and the FUSE International festival in London (2023) where Adam’s outstanding performance earned him the prestigious Best of Children and Family awards, solidifying his growing reputation in theatre.
Theatre is a great passion of Adam’s and has brought him incredible pleasure and sense of achievement.
