Performing Lines produces and tours the best of Australia’s contemporary performance.  We recognize creativity and originality and work alongside artists and arts companies to realise great ideas on a bigger platform for a broader audience.

Highly knowledgeable and well connected, the Performing Lines team – in Sydney, Perth and Hobart – work with presenters nationally and internationally to produce new work and to initiate, manage and deliver tours and touring initiatives.

We produce new work with:

• festivals and presenters on commissioned works
• artists and arts organisations from inception to stage

We assist to assemble the creative team, manage the creative development, the rehearsal, the get-in (and out) and the performance season. We contract, liaise, schedule, source extra funds and generally make it happen.

We manage tours and touring initiatives to:

• actively develop new audiences and circuits for contemporary work. This is currently supported by:
  - Mobile States: a consortium of Australia’s major contemporary arts spaces committed to presenting the best of Australia’s contemporary performance
  - Road Work: a consortium of regional venues committed to presenting
  adventurous work
  - Tasmania Performs: a producing and touring initiative that supports contemporary Tasmanian work to tour regionally, nationally and internationally.
• realise the vision of contemporary performing artists to see their work on regional, national and international stages.

At any one time we can have up to ten tours in development or on the road, both nationally and internationally.
