Initiatives

Performing Lines works with individual artists on a project basis, and manages strategic initiatives for the Australia Council and state government arts agencies that connect artists and presenters.

Current initiatives are:

  • MAPS NSW:
We offer managing and producing services to a core group of six dance and theatre artists based in NSW. We work out how we can be of most benefit and get involved in everything from strategic planning and brokering presenter relationships to producing new works and organising tours.
  • Performing Lines WA / MAPS WA:
Like MAPS NSW, Fiona de Garis and the Performing Lines WA team offer managing and producing services to a core group of four dance and theatre artists based in WA, as well as project-based support when they can.
  • Tasmania Performs:
Producer Annette Downs works with independent artists and companies to develop, produce and tour new Tasmanian work regionally in Tasmania and beyond. She matches emerging artists with mentors, assists with project planning and fundraising, and provides tour coordination.
  • Mobile States:
Mobile States is a national consortium of Australia’s major contemporary arts spaces who are committed to presenting the best of Australia’s contemporary performance.

  • Road Work:
Road Work is a national consortium of regional venues that develops opportunities for regional audiences to engage with a broad spectrum of original and creative work. There are two tours each year – one dance and one theatre production.
